A good budget entry for all those newbies out there. The GIGABYTE B560M DS3H has enough features for future upgrades while still lying under a preferable price point. There’s not a lot of good beautifications, but it makes up for it in performance and overall utility.

The B560 chipset will be enough for casual gamers but it’s not a safe environment for CPU overclocking, so enthusiasts and other high-end users will not have much use from this motherboard if they choose to upgrade their i5-11400F to an unlocked CPU.

Price - This motherboard is a good option for budget gamers, it’s very cheap and has enough specs to work with, highly recommended for those christmas cheapskates.

A perfect motherboard for high-end users. The ASUS Prime Z590-A has more than enough to keep you going for a long time. It’s got a perfect environment for overclocking and the design doesn’t look half bad. There’s also three PCIe x16 slots, so a multi-GPU configuration can be easily arranged.

What We Like
Performance - This is the motherboard with the best specs on this list, it’s great for overclocking and serves as a must-have for most competitive gamers, streamers and content creators. 
Aesthetics - The showcasing potential of this motherboard is very high. The design is amazing and it definitely looks and feels like a premium motherboard. The layout can be a bit messy with the exposed electronic components but the cool heatsinks and the RGB surpasses these minor flaws.

Price - This is by no means a motherboard for budget gamers, you are better off with our cheaper alternative or the “best” motherboard, one that we have yet to discuss, so it’s best for budget builders to stay away from this.

If size is an issue, (as in, you want a bigger size and not a smaller one) then I’d recommend the GIGABYTE Z590 UD AC. It’s a cheap alternative to the Prime Z590-A with enough features for a mid-level build. Highly recommend it if you don’t have a Mini-ITX case, (like most “normal” people do).

Review

Well here’s a good option for your mid-range PC. It’s got the ATX form factor, which you so truly desire. (why can’t you just use mini-ITX like a “normal” person) The environment is safe for overclocking and the feature that caught my eye is two-way AMD GPU Crossfire support along with Quad-GPU Crossfire as well. Unfortunately no mention of SLI.

All the other features are almost similar to our most expensive entry, with the exception that it’s missing the exclusive features.

What We Like
Price - This is a perfect motherboard that completely justifies its price tag. The basic features are good enough for a mid-range PC along with some room to upgrade as well. Highly recommended for budget gamers.

Aesthetics - There are no fancy bells or whistles attached to this mobo. No RGB or a cleaner layout. The dark finish is pleasant but that’s all there is to it. If you’re worried about aesthetics, then this won’t be a good choice.

Looking to do some downsizing with the motherboards? But don’t want to go too far into Mini-ITX territory? Well good news, the GIGABYTE B560M AORUS PRO has you covered, with AMD Crossfire support, good enough storage ports and many other basic features you’d expect.

Despite having Crossfire support it still lacks SLI and CPU overclocking, so for enthusiast builds, this may not be the one.

What We Like
Performance - Despite the fact that there’s no CPU overclocking, there are still a host of many other features that ensures this mobo has good enough performance and the Multi-GPU Crossfire support is one of it’s many saving graces.
Know Before Buying
Price - Along with the weak aesthetic, the price is a bit high for this motherboard. It’s better to save up some more and get one with a different chipset like a Z590 which allows CPU overclocking. For budget builders, I won’t recommend it.

ASRock B560M Steel Legend is a familiar board, I used to bash it for it’s aesthetics but since the circumstances have changed, this motherboard has taken the top spot. Considering the features, it is perfect for an i5-11400F. I still won’t change my opinion on the design but considering the performance, this will get the job done and it will get it done in the most optimal manner.

Although it might not look much, this motherboard is perfect for a mid-range build. It’s got enough future-proof capabilities in case you upgrade to an i7 and enough storage ports to accommodate most high performance builds.

Unfortunately this motherboard doesn’t support CPU overclocking, along with that there’s no in-built support for multi-GPU configurations, but you can overclock the RAM so you got that going for you, which is nice.

What We Like
Price - The defining feature of this mobo is the relatively cheaper price tag. It won’t cost the same as the CPU so it’s got a good range and for budget builders this is a good option. 
Know Before Buying
Performance - Along with the weak aesthetics, this motherboard doesn’t have high-end performance, it gets stagnated at the mid-range and there’s no way to move higher than that. The only reason it made the top list is because the Core i5-11400F does not provide overclocking. So for the short term, it's a win.

The B560 chipset motherboards are the best-valued motherboards for these processors, especially now that B560 motherboards are capable of overclocking the memory too.

If you are not into overclocking or the latest I/O features, you can also go for a B460 motherboard since these motherboards are priced way lower than the latest motherboards. For high-end users who plan to upgrade the processors to something like Core i5 11600K or 11700K, it is better to buy a Z590 motherboard since Z590 motherboards can be used for overclocking too.
